Matsya Kanthika

Since it’s inception Jalsaghar Calcutta has shown affinity towards depiction of fish motifs in many of its creation. “Meen” akari buttons for men are still in vogue and is one of the best sellers. Fish motifs were further carved is the form of studs, nose pins, small pendants etc. Enhancing our “fishy” affair, this time we present these vertebrates in the form of a necklace-earring set -‘Matsya Kanthika’and Matsya kundala.

The body of the fish is carved in patten alike the paisa-buti on sarees, the scales are wrought of single-scoop sterling silver medallions that steadily increase in size towards the centre, making the illusory swimming fish so very real. The shoal is attached with each other with 2 silver chains in-between. The red stone studded eyes of the fishes are bound to enchant gemmaphiles to own the ‘Matsya’ set.
